Medical Tech Company Controls Emissions with RTO

To handle the heptane and isopropyl alcohol emissions created in the manufacturing process of syringes, the Midwestern plant of a global medical technology company selected The CMM Group to install a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer.

Installed outdoors on a concrete pad, the 4,000 scfm RTO has an operating set point of 1,500°F and is designed to destroy 98% of the VOCs, as required by USEPA Method 25A, generated by the company’s nine coating lines during the facility’s 24 hours per day, 7 days per week production schedule. After installation, Method 25A testing confirmed the CMM RTO was exceeding the required VOC destruction efficiency.
